The Morrison Government is fully funding the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) with more than $347 million a year allocated to transforming the lives of 4,116 participants across the Groom electorate.
Member for Groom, Garth Hamilton, said NDIS participants in Groom are benefiting from the Morrison Government’s record investment and strong management of the NDIS.
“The average NDIS participant plan budget in Groom is $84,500, substantially higher than the national average of $68,500,” said Mr Hamilton.
“Crucially, this funding means that NDIS participants are provided the supports they need to achieve their goals, both at home and in our community.
“This year alone the Morrison Government is investing $29 billion into the scheme nationally, and more than $142 billion over the next four years.”
There are no cuts to the NDIS as falsely claimed by Labor. In fact, overall NDIS funding has increased year on year under the Morrison Government.
Labor cannot be trusted to properly run the NDIS.
It’s concerning that Labor calls for political interference in NDIS Agency decisions, and to undermine its independent decision-making based on specialist advice.
Australians can be rightly concerned about what will happen to the NDIS if Labor starts to politically interfere in complex decisions on individual support packages.
“Australians can be certain that the Liberals and Nationals in Government will continue to deliver a strong and effective NDIS for generations to come,” Mr Hamilton said today.
