Residents from Toowoomba and surrounds have turned out in droves to support the ‘No’ campaign, at a much-anticipated rally with Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price.
Federal Member for Groom, Garth Hamilton said the Toowoomba event was the largest event of its kind to date.
“It was great to see so many locals turnout, and it says something about the region’s support for Jacinta and the no case.
“Locals do not want to be divided, Australians do not want to be divided and this event demonstrates that – only ‘No’ seeks to keep Australia together.
Mr Hamilton said it was unfortunate the Government and Yes23 chose to ignore genuine questions from the grassroots.
“This event has come about as a direct result of the division stoked by proponents of the Voice and the failure to stump up.
“There is a stark contrast between Yes and No.
“’Yes’ represents corporate Australia, powerful and wealthy Australia. ‘No’ represents the very people on the ground and last night was testament to that,’ Mr Hamilton said.
