Over the course of the last 24 hours, I have received multiple requests from the media to comment on Premier Palaszczuk’s Toowoomba quarantine thought bubble.
According to the Premier, further correspondence has been sent, in relation to her idea.
Until such a time that the Premier can show the community a detailed plan for how this idea will work, and how she plans to keep people safe, I can only make the following commentary:
This is a Queensland proposal. This isn’t a Federal proposal, it’s a Queensland proposal.
This is the Premiers idea and the Premier must address the issues being raised by our local community.
For every day the Premier is silent on her plans, anxiety grows in the community. That is why we need to see a plan and hear directly from the Premier.
The Premier has failed to provide any detail.
I wrote to the Premier on January 25 and she has treated that request for information in the same way she has treated the people of the Toowoomba region, with utter contempt. I have received no response.
In March 2020 the States and Territories agreed to manage quarantine arrangements in line with having responsibility for delivering the health and hospital services.
It is time the Premier comes clean on her quarantine plan.
It is a very concerning situation that a private business is providing more detail on this proposal than the Queensland Premier.
