Federal Member for Groom Garth Hamilton has called out the Climate 200-backed independent candidate over her refusal to be honest with voters about her position on the Voice to Parliament referendum.
In a recent interview, the Teal candidate claimed she “did not campaign” on the Voice – despite a clear online trail of social media posts supporting the Yes campaign.
“She didn’t just vote Yes – she publicly backed the campaign, shared Yes materials, and even called on me personally to vote Yes,” Mr Hamilton said.
“Now, faced with tough questions, she’s pretending she stayed out of it entirely – and she’s refused to say which way she voted.”
The electorate of Groom voted 76.3% in opposition to the Voice to Parliament referendum.
“Her attempt to rewrite history doesn’t just raise eyebrows – it raises serious questions about the kind of integrity she claims to stand for.
“If she won’t be honest with voters about something as significant as a national referendum, what else is she prepared to brush under the rug?”
“As I’ve said before – you may not agree with me on all issues. But at least you know where I stand because I don’t shy away from the big issues.
