Stop Labor’s Aged Care Tax

Labor is making retirees pay more while living standards collapse.

Australians have experienced the biggest fall in living standards in the developed world. Now Labor is asking older Australians to pay the price.

Labor is increasing the cost burden on retirees at every turn.

Under their changes:

• More than 1.4 million Australians aged 65+ will pay up to $640 more per year for private health insurance
• Aged care and retirement living costs are increasing
• Hidden tax increases are being introduced through the back door, including GST-style charges
• Taxes on superannuation and capital gains are being lifted

This is happening during a cost of living crisis.

Government spending is already at a 40-year high outside of a recession, fuelling higher inflation for longer.

Instead of easing pressure, Labor is increasing it, directly targeting Australians in retirement.

First private health care. Now aged care. Next, retirement savings.

It is hit after hit.

Older Australians are being asked to pay more just to stand still.

That is not fair. And it is not sustainable.
