Statement

I shouldn’t have sworn. But I will not stand by silently in the face of continued lies and personal attacks by the Albanese Government.

Question Time has become a joke. Ministers do not answer questions; they deride Australians with different views and ignore genuine concerns of non-government MP’s.

The repulsive mischaracterisation by the Minister for Emergency Management, against the Leader of the Opposition was the final straw for me and it is unacceptable.

The Minister should apologise to the Parliament, the Australian people and the Leader of the Opposition.

My suspension does not change the issues that matter. Families are still struggling with the cost of living. Regional communities continue to face higher energy costs, growing pressure on small businesses, and a government that too often avoids scrutiny instead of providing answers.

Tomorrow, and every day after that, I will continue fighting for lower living costs, affordable and reliable energy, stronger regional communities and greater accountability from the government.
