Garth Hamilton is proud to be the Member for Groom.
His father was a concreter, and Garth says some of his happiest memories are as a young boy helping him pour slabs and driveways throughout South East Queensland.
Garth earned a scholarship to Ipswich Grammar School before following his passion for building things, studying engineering at the University of Queensland.
Starting out in the Australian mining industry with BHP, Alcan and Parsons Brinckerhoff, he has since worked on significant projects across the world.
Garth was responsible for delivering major water infrastructure, rail and sporting facilities in Saudi Arabia, Tube stations, an airport terminal in London, and mining projects in Western Australia.
